UP CLOSE n PURRRSONAL PEOPLE ... followed by MY BELOVED BEASTIES including ONE QUITE PUNCH DRUNK POLINATOR and an ARMOUR PLATED BUGGLY :-/It was the yearly festival in the local village today.
On the way there, I stopped off for coffee and to snap a few shots, in the even more local village.

I love to watch these peaceful locals, sit around, discussing the price of a chicken egg or two...

just relaxing watching the world go by

making the most of the beautiful weather

sitting amongst the glorious trees

sharing a good story or ten

and as you will see from a closer view of this little line up of local men......

they do enjoy a jolly good joke around!
BUT.... where's all the village birds you may ask?

HEY! DID THE ANGLACHANKA JEST CALL US A COUPLE O OLD BIRDS? (confused)

so, seeing as last year I bought you all the photos of the actual festival, the funfair and all the hoards of people there...
this year i thort i may show you something entirely different...

so.... dont ask for whom that bludy noisy bell tolls.....
cos these were so gloriously beautiful bells, i was almost tempted to buy one as the door bell for me little barn up top...

however...
i couldnt decide until i saw the price... then i decided... and came away quietly much to the delite of me 'secretary'! :P

but.... take a close up long gaze at the bells in this photo... the only one moving was the mountains... yup the earth really was moving today... the peaceful rose valley was as still as a ... urm, it was still!

how about a butterfly action shot?
there are many of these teeny blue'ish lilac butterflies, catching a standing still photo always proves a tad of a task!
however... check out the first close shot here... it was taken from around 10 meters away ... can you see the BATy look on its face?
me new toy can take some pretty good photos, it can zoom in and macro meaning i dont always disturb the subject...
taken with the Panasonic Lumix with Leica Lens!

As always superb, and gratefully received-now if i can just pry my daughter away from the multiple distractions that life in london appears to offer, perhaps, just perhaps,i can begin to introduce her, with your able assistance of course,to some of the true marvells of nature.Bulgaria reminds me of something i had as a child, something i want my child to have, and something sadly, that wont last forever-today is yesterdays tomorrow.

so ... can i offer a doting dad any purrrrsonal advice?

Like animals, plants must make babies. Flowering plants have spectacular sex organs: flowers! (So be careful where you put your nose). The purpose of flowers is to con some poor bird or insect to carry the pollen from one flower to another so that the plants can make babies (fruit). Unlike animals, these babies - the fruit - can be stored (in cones, where they are safe from fire and some predators) or hidden (by conning ants or rats to bury them underground), or just discarded on the ground to survive there.
